Benedict Canale

Councilor/Volunteer

If you ask him what got him into swing, Benedict will very sheepishly admit that it wasn't the girls or the music. Strangely enough, it was actually the dancing that caught his fancy! What began as a mild interest in swing dancing quickly escalated to obsession-level participation in all things swing as Ben investigated all local dances and classes. Before long, he was taking private lessons, attending camps and workshop weekends, and taxiing around a demanding dance partner, all for the love of the dance. But it has certainly paid off: he can now do Balboa footwork while making a latté. It's true! Just ask him next time you head into Starbucks and see his name on the barista board. Now if he can manage to work in a swing step while throwing a disc in a game of Ultimate, swing will truly have permeated almost every area of his life. (You may know the game of Ultimate better under its more common name, Ultimate Frisbee, but Benedict insists that Frisbee is not the proper term for the flying discs used in this game - I mean, in this sport.)
